Meet 2 Details for Saturday, June 19th
Good evening Dolphin parents!
It is time for our second meet this Saturday. I know the swimmers have all been working hard at the pool to perfect their technique and lower their times. As always, there is a lot of information included. Most of it is a review, but make sure you look over it again.
Attached to this email you will find four documents:
Heat Sheet - Print a copy of this to bring with you to the meet so you can follow along with the meet. There may be changes before Saturday, but unless it impacts your swimmer, this version will work for you. If your swimmer is impacted by an event/heat change, you will hear from Kim Smith or Andrew Connell or your coach. If your swimmer wakes up sick on Saturday, please text Kim Smith at 904-652-5797 so we know to remove them from the events, and possibly look for replacements if they are scheduled for a relay.
Entry List - You do not need to print this entire document. Some people like to print just the page with their swimmers’ names and events.
Psych Sheet- You do not need to print this. This psych sheet is more a reference for our experiences swimmers to be able to compare times with other opposing athletes. Since our meets are virtual this year, we will not have these other teams competing on the pool deck, but the times at the end of the meets on Saturday will be combined for points and ribbons.
The timeline for Saturday morning is:
Swimmer and Volunteer Check-in**: 6:30am-6:45am
Swimmer Warm-Ups: 7:00 to 7:45 am
Meet Starts: 8:00 am
**Do not forget that all volunteers, first and second half need to check in between 6:30 – 6:45am with all the other volunteers. Listen out for us to call for volunteer training around 7:40am***
If you need a refresher on items to bring, how to mark your swimmer, where to set up, or anything else first time meet related, please check out this overview that should answer many of your questions. Also, we will have our first-time parent table set up again in one of the picnic areas in the field, so please stop in and ask any questions you might have! No question is too silly for a first-time swim parent!
We will have Aunt Greg’s Southern Eats food truck providing food and beverages for the meet around 10am. Kona Ice will be selling shaved ice. In addition to that we will have a limited concession stand offering water, Gatorade, candy, and donuts. The concession stand can only take CASH, so please bring cash for that. Should your swimmer and family need other options for food, please bring your own!
Friday Night Meet Set Up Crew: If you are committed to assist with set up on Friday night, please plan to meet at the pool at 9:00 pm tomorrow night. Many hands make light work and with everyone there on time, we should be able to knock it out quickly. Should we be able to meet earlier than that, you will get a message to come earlier. We have to wait until the majority of the pool deck is cleared off before we begin working.
After the Meet- if you are able to stay and help put things away that is always appreciated. Also, make sure you pick up any trash or items in the field before you leave. We want to keep our community clean and beautiful!
Remember to wear your team shirts, suits (or sold black suit) and swim caps on Saturday morning to show your Dolphin spirit!
